Tottenham have confirmed the signing of forward Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal for the remainder of the 2022/23 season. The former Bournemouth man has been drafted into the squad by Antonio Conte due to the desperate need for further additions in the attacking ranks.
Spurs have struggled with depth at times during the season, despite a busy summer transfer window where that was a priority for the season ahead. Injuries to Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura hasn't helped the squad, while a lack of form for Son Heung-Min has been noticeable.
There will be hopes that Danjuma can add that quality in depth after completing his switch to north London, with a possible debut against Preston in the FA Cup this weekend on the cards. It could have been all so different for the Dutch international though, who was close to sealing a move elsewhere in the Premier League.

That's because reports stated that a deal to join Everton on loan for the remainder of the season was all but completed, having held talks with the current crisis club. A medical was said to have been finalised, with signatures all in place and media duties completed too.
However, the deal fell through as Spurs sniffed out an opportunity, with the Toffees dealing with the departure of Frank Lampard as manager after a dismal run of form. It's one of the shock U-turns of the transfer market and it remains to be seen if it's the London club that'll have the last laugh with the addition.
Villarreal have confirmed that there is an option to buy in the deal too. Writing in their own statement: "Villarreal CF and Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement for the loan of Arnaut Danjuma. The Dutch forward will play for the London club until the end of the current 2022/23 season. The loan agreement includes a purchase option."
