Bayern Munich and Senegal forward Sadio Mane will miss the Qatar 2022 World Cup after sustaining an injury to his right fibula.
The 30-year-old picked up the injury in one of the final Munich games ahead of the World Cup but was named in Senegal's 26-man squad by Aliou Cisse.
It was announced earlier this week that the former Liverpool man would miss the "first games" of the tournament but he would not require an operation.
However, with their first game on the horizon on Monday against the Netherlands, the Senegal football federation have confirmed that Mane would completely miss the tournament as he's not recovering from his injury.

Mane joins a lengthy list of big names who will miss the tournament in the Middle east due to injuries. Paul Pogba, N'Golo Kante and Christopher Nkunku will be absent from France's attempt to retain their title while England will be without Chelsea duo Ben Chilwell and Reece James.
The Senegal icon suffered the setback in Bayern's 6-1 Bundesliga victory over Werder Bremen where he was forced off the field after only 20 minutes. Initial reports had suggested he would be out for "several weeks" but he had been given a glimmer of hope following his inclusion in Cisse's squad.
Mane's absence will be a major blow for the African champions. They face hosts Qatar, Ecuador and the Netherlands in their group and could face England in the first knockout round. The Lions of Teranga face the uphill task of replicating their impressive run in 2002 where they reached the quarter-finals famously defeating France and Sweden.
