This was not the news Ohio State football wanted to hear: Justin Scott, a five-star defensive tackle commit, has flipped his commitment to Miami (Florida).
Scott had been committed to the Buckeyes since early July, but he follows his Chicagoland friend, Marquise Lightfoot, to South Florida. I had been told they were most likely a package deal and this turned out to be true, but clearly not in Columbus.
This is a hard one to swallow. Scott was ranked the No. 3 defensive lineman and 12th overall recruit in the country on the 247Sports composite. He was one of the cornerstones of the class.

Now it makes sense why the Buckeyes are hosting multiple defensive line recruits over the next few weeks. Losing Scott feeds the perception that Larry Johnson hasn’t been able to recruit at a high level the last few cycles.
