Man, 32, fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by car

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a car in Salford.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Alexandra Road in Eccles at around 6.40pm last night (Thursday).

Police said the man, aged 32, was struck by a Toyota Yaris while crossing the road.

He was taken to hospital from the scene where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the Yaris stayed at the scene to talk to police.

Last night, police cordoned off a section of Alexandra Road at the junction with Liverpool Road.

A cordon was in place after the crash (ASP)

Officers from the Serious Collision Unit were pictured carrying out investigations as the scene was in place.

GMP are now urging anyone who witnessed the crash to get in touch.
