The FA have confirmed that a preliminary bid dossier for the UK and the Republic of Ireland to host UEFA EURO 2028 has been submitted.
Government Partners of the UK, Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and officials in Northern Ireland have all supported the bid, which would see games held across all of the UK and Ireland. The bid includes 14 proposed venues that would see fixtures held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London Stadium and Wembley Stadium in the English capital, with both Chelsea's Stamford Bridge and Arsenal's Emirates Stadium being omitted from the bid.
A statement released on The FA's website read: "The UK & Ireland Bid to host UEFA EURO 2028 has today submitted our Preliminary Bid Dossier – a key moment in UEFA’s campaign process. The bid sets out our clear and compelling vision for UEFA EURO 2028: ‘Football for all. Football for good. Football for the future’."
