In their quest to set the franchise single-season streak for the most consecutive home wins without a loss, the Boston Celtics narrowly escaped the Minnesota Timberwolves in overtime 127-120. The win was a tough one for the Eastern Conference’s top ball club as they faced their equivalent in the West in the Timberwolves.
Though both squads were without their starting centers, the game was still among the best of the season so far, and in some corners the very best played in 2023-24 to date. With Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combining for 80 points in the victory and Tatum matching his season high of 45 points, one could easily miss the lockdown defense they brought to bear on Minnesota.
