How will the injury situation affect Sunday’s NFC matchup?
Buy Packers TicketsHere’s an in-depth break down of the Packers’ final injury report of Week 1:
Questionable (4)
RB Aaron Jones (hamstring): The Packers’ star running back didn’t practice all week, possibly in attempt to make sure his hamstring is in as good as shape as possible before a final test Sunday. It wouldn’t be surprising if the Packers kept him out to make sure he’s 100 percent for the rest of the year. A.J. Dillon could get a majority of the touches at running back in Atlanta if Jones doesn’t play. Expect the Packers to elevate Patrick Taylor from the practice squad on Saturday.
LT David Bakhtiari (knee): While Bakhtiari didn’t have an injury status in Week 1, he is questionable this week. Could it be related to the playing surface in Atlanta? The turf at Mercedes Benz Stadium is the same at MetLife Stadium. Rasheed Walker would be his backup if he can’t go.
WR Christian Watson (hamstring): The speedy receiver got in a limited practice on Friday. Is he close to 100 percent and capable of playing Sunday, or is he still a week away? His return to practice is encouraging.
LB Quay Walker (concussion): The second-year linebacker remains in the protocol, but progress throughout the week keeps the door open to him playing on Sunday. He’ll have two days to clear the final stages of the protocol. Isaiah McDuffie is his backup.
No injury designation
WR Romeo Doubs (hamstring): While still limited on Wednesday and Thursday, Doubs got in a full practice on Friday and is good to go for Sunday. He caught two touchdown passes in the season opener.
OLB Rashan Gary (knee): As was the case last week, expect Gary to be on a pitch count as he works his way back. He was disruptive over 12 snaps in Week 1. M
LG Elgton Jenkins (knee): No concern here. Jenkins got upgraded to a full participant on Friday and will play without issue on Sunday.
P Daniel Whelan (finger): Added to the injury report on Thursday, Whelan was a full participant each of the last two days and will play Sunday.
S Anthony Johnson Jr (knee): He was a full participant all week and could make his NFL debut on Sunday.
Falcons injury report
The Falcons ruled out starting linebacker Troy Andersen (concussion) and listed cornerback Jeff Okudah (foot) as questionable. Running back Cordarrelle Patterson will play.
