A man was rushed to hospital after being hit by a bin lorry in Cumbernauld earlier this afternoon.
The 58-year-old was struck by the vehicle on the Main Road area of Condorrat, at around 12.10pm.
He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. His injuries are believed to be serious but not life-threatening.
The Health and Safety Executive have been made aware of the incident and police enquiries into the collision remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told Lanarkshire Live: “Around 12.10pm on Friday, 20 May, 2022, police were called to the Main Road area of Condorrat, Cumbernauld, following a report of a road crash involving a bin lorry and a 58-year-old man.
"The man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and his injuries are believed to be serious, but not life-threatening.
"The Health and Safety Executive has been made aware and enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.”
