Spain have announced their 26-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar, with the key revelation being that defender and international regular Cesar Azpilicueta is the only Chelsea player selected by Luis Enrique.
Kepa Arrizabalaga and Marc Cucurella have been omitted from the squad who were in contention ahead of the confirmation after regularly featuring for Chelsea so far this season.
Although this will be a blow for the players, it offers an unexpected boost for Graham Potter following the international break when Chelsea returns to Premier League action on the 27th of December against Bournemouth.

Kepa's last international appearance came in October 2020 against Portugal in a friendly and has not been in a matchday squad since the end of the same year.
Whilst Cucurella's only senior international cap came in June 2021 in another friendly against Lithuania.
The 33-year-old Azpilicueta is on 41 appearances for Spain and will be heading to his third World Cup after being involved in the last two campaigns in 2014 and 2018.
