Bernd Leno tests positive for Covid-19 and misses Wolves vs Arsenal

Bernd Leno has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss tonight's trip to Molineux to take on Wolves.

The German goalkeeper, who would have been unlikely to feature anyway with Aaron Ramsdale now with the first-choice shot-stopper, has not travelled with the Gunners squad.

Arsenal released a statement, reading: "Team news update... @Bernd_Leno misses today's game after testing positive for Covid. Get well soon, Bernd!"

Here is the Gunners' XI to take on Wolves this evening in the crucial Premier League clash: Ramsdale, Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tierney, Xhaka, Partey, Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Lacazette.

Ahead of the game, Mikel Arteta discussed how he wants his Arsenal side to approach the final 17 games of the Premier League season.

Arteta said: "It’s one of the things we’ve discussed, how we’re going to approach the last 17 games, what we need to do to achieve our objectives.

"The most important thing is that we’re all on the same page, focused and determined with the right belief and going game by game, not getting lost in the things that are too far, [focus on] what we have to do daily, the habits that we need to instil to get the level of performance that we need to win as much as possible."

If Arsenal can secure the three points against Wolves tonight, then the Gunners will climb up to fifth-place, just one point behind West Ham United in fourth.

Manchester United, who are currently in fifth, were held on Tuesday night away at Burnley, while seventh-place Tottenham were beaten by Southampton yesterday.

However, if Wolves can win, then they will climb into sixth - above the Gunners.
