Prince George broke with traditon as he walked with members of the Royal Family behind the Queen's coffin. He joined his sister, Princess Charlotte, aged seven, as they followed the coffin into Westminster Abbey.
George, nine, walked with his sister and parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, side by side. They were followed by their aunt and uncle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Inside, around 2,000 guests waited inside the abbey for the state funeral service, reports the LiverpoolECHO. Princess Charlotte was seen wearing a black coat and hat as she walked beside her brother.
But, in a break with tradition, Prince George wore a navy suit, rather than an entirely black outfit at the service. He paired the suit with a black tie and a white shirt.
During the mourning period, both Prince Harry and Prince William have also been photographed wearing navy suits with a black tie. The two brothers stepped out in matching coloured suits to greet well-wishing members of the public at Windsor upon the passing of the Queen.
