Vinicius Jr's stunning solo goal spared Brazil's blushes as they drew 1-1 with Morocco in their World Cup opener in New Jersey.
Ismael Saibari gave Morocco the lead midway through the first half when he lifted the ball over the onrushing Alisson from outside the area.
Morocco were the better team early on but failed to build on their lead and Vinicius Jr's excellent goal ensured the points were shared.
Here are the Brazil player ratings from the game at the NewYorkNewJersey Stadium.
Alisson 6
Came rushing out to the edge of his area to try and stop Ismael Saibari but the Moroccan cooly lifted the ball over him to give the AFCON champions the lead, but little he could do to stop it. Made a crucial double save in stoppage time to earn Brazil a point.
Gabriel Magalhaes 5
Mistake for the Morocco goal and he looked like he was running through treacle at times. Didn’t look right as he continued to struggle.
Marquinhos 5
Badly caught out for the Morocco opener. Recovered well but that mistake will give him nightmares
Douglas Santos 5
Targeted by Morocco as the majority of their attacks went down his side of the pitch. But he did well to weather the storm well and didn’t make any big errors.
Roger Ibanez 4
Tough first half as he was run ragged by Bilal El Khannouss and was sitting on a yellow card after the opening 45 minutes. Hooked at half-time.
Casemiro 4
Looked like he was treading water for much of the first half and was given the run-around by the North Africans before his misery was cut short by being taken off at the break.
Bruno Guimaraes 6
Found Vinicius Junior for the opener and then fizzed a dangerous ball low across the box but Raphinha was unable to get on the end of it and put Brazil ahead midway through the second half. Looked good going forward but that left space for Morocco to exploit.
Lucas Paqueta 5
Lost the ball in a dangerous area and Azzedine Ounahi needed three Brazil players to stop him and shut him down on the edge of the penalty area. Spent more time shouting at his teammates than having a meaningful impact in the attack.
Vinicius Junior 8
The star of this Brazil team that will be key to them adding a sixth star to their shirt. Anything good came through the Real Madrid star.
His goal was a thing of beauty as he turned a number of defenders inside out before finishing brilliantly to level the game up for Carlo Ancilotti’s side.
Raphinha 6
Nothing quite clicked for the Barca star. He looked great in flashes and worked hard for the team but struggled to find the back of the net
Igor Thiago 4
Uncharacteristically missed a golden opportunity to head Brazil ahead, good cross from Vinicius Junior but the Brentford striker glanced his header wide from six yards, the type of chance he would have gobbled up in the Premier League. Subbed in the second half after failing to make much of an impact.
