Brazil Copa America 2024 squad: Dorival Junior's full team

The Brazil Copa America 2024 squad is focused on glory in the United States this summer, but they'll need to perform better than they have done if they're to lift the trophy come July 14.

Finishing second place in Group D behind Colombia isn't what Selecao fans would've expected heading into the tournament, with Brazil failing to beat the group winners and Costa Rica. Dorival Junior's side did demolish Paraguay 4-1, however, highlighting the quality they have when the players turn it on.

Indeed, with Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Gabriel Martinelli and Raphinha in attack, Bruno Guimaraes, Lucas Paqueta and Douglas Luiz in midfield, and Marquinhos, Eder Militao and Gabriel all shoring up the defence, there's plenty of reason to believe this is another year for Brazil to victor in the tournament.

They seem much more balanced without Neymar, too, who is missing the tournament through injury. Usually, everything would go through their talisman, but without him in the side, other players are given the freedom and opportunity to express themselves much more readily.

After missing out on the 2021 tournament to Argentina, the first time they failed to win the Copa America on home soil, Brazil have something to prove at the tournament. Their new-look, hungrier and more energetic squad are brought together by new manager Dorival Junior, who has plenty of success coaching in his native Brazil.

The Brazil Copa America 2024 squad will face a tough game against Uruguay in the quarter-finals, with either Colombia or Panama awaiting them in the semis if they manage to find a way past Marcelo Bielsa's side.

Appointed in January 2024, Dorival Junior has barely had any time to get his feet under the table before having a major tournament thrust upon him. At 61, Dorival has waited many a year to finally have a crack at the national team - he has taken charge of nearly 1000 games in just Brazil over the course of his managerial career, and has an impressive win percentage of 50%. Whether he can transfer that to the national team, though, remains to be seen.

With Neymar a perennial occupant of the treatment table, Vincius Jr. has taken on the mantle as Brazil's most important player - and it's not like he hasn't earned it.

The Real Madrid winger is already an icon for the Selecao, with his performances making him the player the rest of his team-mates look towards. But, with plenty of other talent in the squad, other sides can't just focus on stopping him - allowing him to run riot with his electric speed and silky dribbling.

Vinicius could prove the difference for Brazil in the United States.
