Brazen Scottish thieves caught on CCTV fleeing with stolen bike after break-in

The moment two thieves scrambled down a quiet Scottish street with a stolen dirt bike has been captured on CCTV.

The shocking moment developed during a break-in at the Cartmore Industrial Estate, Fife, during the early hours of Wednesday, January 25. Police have now launched a probe after two vehicles were taken during the incident.

CCTV footage, shared with the Daily Record, shows one thief standing on the bike while the other pushes it up the road. The man pushing the bike has his legs spread out as they sprint down the road.

Owner of the industrial estate, Aidan Kerr, shared his frustration after a 2020 Yamaha quad bike and a 2017 KTM 250sx dirt bike were pinched. It is believed the combined of cost of both vehicles is around £13,000.

Within the footage, a van can also be seen slowly following the pair slowly before they disappear from the shot. Owner Aidan said: "They were stolen from my container at Cartmore Industrial Estate.

"I've still been gathering CCTV, but in this clip you can see them running like a pair of girls with the bike. I also have footage of the van leaving as well and of them sitting in the van."

Officers confirmed they received a report of the break in and their enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101.

Aidan added: "They were there for an hour. They went in at 12am and came out at 1am.

"The best thing the tramps can do is hand it over. They can't be far.

"Both bikes stick out like sore thumbs. There is a big reward to whoever brings the bikes back."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "On Wednesday January 25, police received a report of a break in and theft at Cartmore Industrial Estate in Lochgelly.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
