A brave Scots schoolgirl was diagnosed with a major spinal condition after her mum spotted a problem on a slip-and-slide.
Molly McFarlane was just 12-years-old when she was referred to doctors after her shoulder appeared to be "sticking out" while she was playing in the back garden of her home in Edinburgh. The youngster then underwent major surgery at the Edinburgh Sick Kids to recorrect her spine after medics quickly confirmed she had scoliosis.
Molly faced a huge recovery - but the inspirational schoolgirl she has now raised thousands of pounds for charity after tackling a triathlon style challenge in May. Her mum Meg Macfarlane told Edinburgh Live : “Last summer, Molly was playing with friends on a slip and slide in the garden when I noticed that her shoulder blade was sticking out more than the other side.
