A devastated family has told how their dog was involved in a horrific hit-and-run on a busy city road.
The incident happened on Friday, October 28, at about 2.30pm-2.45pm on Telford Road near the Shell garage.
Daisy, a four-year-old Bichon Frisé, had bolted onto the road when someone opened the stair door to her flat and was hit by the car. Other drivers stopped to allow brave owner Leah Turner, 12, to take the injured pooch home to safety.

Leah’s grandad took Daisy to the vets where she has been all weekend. The poor little dog is currently in a stable condition after suffering a broken pelvis. She is likely to need an operation not covered by the family's insurance.
Leah’s auntie, Rachael Kerr says her niece and Daisy “are like two peas in a pod”. She adds that Leah suffers from epilepsy and relies on Daisy to alert others when she has a seizure.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help raise some funds to cover the operation which is expected to cost about £11,000.
The family writes in the fundraiser: “Also open to other ideas on how to raise some money obviously as a family it’s a really stressful time, if we can’t raise this money unfortunately Leah may lose Daisy and I can’t bear to see that happen to her. Please help, share!”
Rachael also said: “I can’t bear to tell my niece that we can’t afford to keep her alive.”
Anyone has any dashcam footage of the area around the time of Daisy being hit can contact the family on the fundraiser.
