Brandon Miller is doing his best to put himself in the good graces of Charlotte Hornets fans who weren’t all so happy that the club selected the former Alabama standout over G-League Ignite star Scoot Henderson.
After being selected by the club, Miller offered a brash, and seemingly lofty goal for his rookie campaign.
“I can see the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA Finals next year,” Miller said in a now viral video with WCNC Charlotte. “Hopefully, we will get there and get the big trophy in the end.”
Miller will certainly have his work cut out as Charlotte finished with the fourth-worst record in the NBA last season at 27–55.

The talented forward, who is currently among the favorites to earn NBA Rookie of the Year honors, would have to have a record-setting impact on his new club in order to deliver on this outlandish prognostication.
According to oddsmakers, the Hornets are among the biggest long shots to win the NBA Championship next season, ranging from +50,000 to +75,000.
Miller is no stranger to offering preposterous takes as he already stated that Clippers forward Paul George was his greatest basketball player of all time over the likes of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, among others.
Time will tell if he can back up his latest batch of bold words with strong production on the court.
