A brand-new Mercedes-AMG coupe struck eight other vehicles and injured two people on a road in Bangkok, after its driver said he was consumed by anger over a romantic breakup.
According to media reports, the road-rage incident happened on Srivara Road in Wang Thong Lang district at 3pm on Monday. Eyewitnesses said the red-plate Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 loudly hit other vehicles, one after another, on the road.
The Mercedes first struck a multi-purpose vehicle and kept pushing it forward. Eyewitnesses shouted to the driver of the latter to leave his vehicle for safety, but after getting out to inspect the damage he managed to jump back in while it was being pushed.
After forcing the multi-purpose vehicle out of the way, the coupe moved on to hit many other cars.
Local police eventually managed to stop the driver of the 5.2-million-baht car. He was identified only as Preechachan, 42. He reportedly told police that he could not control himself after his girlfriend decided to end their relationship.
Police found no alcohol in his system.
