Oscar winner Brad Pitt has explained comments he previously made about being on the “last leg” of his career.
The Ad Astra star surprised fans back in June when he sparked speculation he may be preparing to retire from the film business in an interview with GQ.
The 58-year-old said at the time: “I consider myself on my last leg, this last semester or trimester. What is this section gonna be? And how do I wanna design that?”
Now addressing his remarks, Pitt assured fans he’s not going anywhere and was merely explaining that he’s “never been a five-year plan kind of a guy” as he attended the Bullet Train premiere in LA.
He told Deadline: “I was just saying, I’m past middle age and I want to be specific about how I spend those last things however they may be.
“I’ve never been a five-year plan kind of guy. I’m just, whatever feels right for the day. I still operate that way.”
Pitt made his movie debut 35 years ago in an uncredited role in comedy Hunk – and that was only the beginning of an illustrious career that has seen him star in a plethora of box-office hits.
Some of the Hollywood star’s most notably credits include Fight Club, the Ocean’s Trilogy, Mr & Mrs Smith, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Moneyball and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which gave him his first acting Oscar in 2020.
Aside from starring on the big screen, Pitt has produced a whole host of projects such as 2006’s The Departed, historical drama Selma and Oscar-winning 12 Years A Slave as part of his Plan B production company.
Elsewhere, Pitt’s latest release Bullet Train is a film by director David Leitch, who is known for his work on the Deadpool and Fast & Furious franchises.
The action comedy follows five assassins who meet on a high-speed train from Tokyo to Morioka. During the journey, they discover their missions aren’t unrelated.
