Brad Pitt was left unimpressed when a reporter turned down his offer to star in his upcoming F1 film and admitted he could "cry" as his time on set comes to an end.

The actor, 60, was talking about the wrapping up of the highly anticipated movie when he offered Sky Sports F1 reporter Ted Kravitz a cameo.

The chat started with the Hollywood star, who plays the role of returning F1 driver Sonny Hayes, being asked by Kravitz if he has even more respect for F1 drivers now he's filmed.

“Yeah, absolutely," he replied. "I’ve got so much respect for these guys and what these cars can do and what these drivers can do. It’s off the charts.

“I’ve got to say, I have been having the time of my life. Oh my god, I wish we could go on for another year. We’re on our last week now, we’ll wrap it up here in Abu Dhabi and, yeah, I might shed a tear. You may see a grown man cry.”

Although filming had finished, Pitt then asked Kravitz, 50 – a regular in the pit lane: “You want in? A little cameo?” Kravitz swiftly replied: “No, I’m cool doing what I am doing.”

Pitt appeared surprised by the snub, but then laughed it off.

The film, which has also seen F1 ace Lewis Hamilton act as a co-producer to ensure every scene is as authentic as possible, is set to hit screens in June 2025. After finishing shooting at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Pitt admitted he was feeling emotional.

Hamilton has had a consequential role in the production of the film and has been pointing out "specific" flaws in the plot and technical issues, according to producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

Bruckheimer said of the seven-time world champion: “[He] gave us a critique of how the drivers actually do various things.

The level of specifics that he gave us, like in Silverstone in Turn Three you're in second gear, and he could hear with his ear we (Brad Pitt) were in third gear.

"So it's that kind of thing that he's bringing to the movie, and he said... When he finishes a race, especially like Singapore, where it's very hot, he can barely get out of the car, they lose 10 pounds... and it's not only him, it's all of them.

“They're just completely exhausted - we're going to show what it takes to be an F1 driver."

Bruckheimer added about the Mercedes driver: “Everything that he has brought to this movie, I can't even express our thanks to him and all the folks from F1 who made this all possible."
