It’s six of the best for Kilmarnock – and the secret is smiling.
The Ayrshire side bagged their sixth successive win at Rugby Park thanks thanks to a 2-0 victory over Dunfermline, and Brad Lyons, pictured right, reckons it’s all because of a happy dressing room.
The midfielder, who put in an impressive performance on Saturday, says gaffer Derek McInnes, left, has been encouraging the players to come into work smiling, and it’s been working wonders.
Lyons said: “The gaffer said to us when he came in that we needed to win our home games and then look after the away games when they come.
“The fans were brilliant on Saturday, they could have been edgy and nervous but they got right behind us and pushed us to the end.
“The manager said every day we should be coming in with a smile on our face and enjoying it because there’s more pressure if you are down at the bottom. We should be embracing this and we really are.
“We are enjoying it. We are a great squad and everyone likes each other. We are getting on really well and I think that shows on the pitch.
“We just need to get keep our head down and keep going. We’ll focus on next week and keep putting the performances in.”
