Boy George addresses I'm A Celeb 'tantrum' and bullying allegations in first TV interview

Boy George took aim at Lorraine Kelly over his alleged tantrum behind the scenes in his first interview after leaving I'm a Celeb.

In one notable moment, the Culture Club singer took aim at Lorraine over a clip where she'd previously brought up the incident on her show.

The so-called tantrum occurred when Sue Cleaver had been allowed to ride a golf buggy to camp due to her medical condition, but, as it was reported at the time, George requested one and was denied. This reportedly led to him stealing an apple and hiding behind some trees.

The 63-year-old broadcaster had a laugh about the pop icon's behaviour.

In response, Boy George cheekily quipped: "Yes, my darling Lorraine, I bet you walk everywhere and do your own make-up? Lol!"

However, the pair seemed to have patched things up as George, 61, discussed all his jungle antics with Lorraine on Tuesday morning.

Poking fun at the situation as George was shown coming onto the set in a golf buggy, Lorraine said: "Oh there he is, I love it. We should say we are using a buggy, because George wanted a buggy.

"And he should have a buggy at all times because he is pop royalty. George, I was slightly less than sympathetic about you and your buggy so I had to get you one. How are you?"

George said: "I'm great. It wasn't as much of a drama as they were hoping it would be because my powers of self control took over. Basically, what happened with the buggy situation was there was a few times when you did a trial and you got covered in unspeakable things.

"And then Ant and Dec got into a posh car, and you were told to walk up the hill and there was this one particular day where I was like 'Nah, no' because I saw the camera wasn't on. I was like 'If you're not filming this, why do you need me to walk up the hill?'

"I'm a red light queen. If the camera is on you'll get me being professional when it's off, don't wind me up because I'm already wound up enough. I don't need your help."

The Karma Chameleon star continued: "Obviously Sue got a buggy because she had a bad leg, and rightfully so. I had no problem with other people being looked after, I'm sure there was all sorts going on. Scarlette was having cups of tea apparently, all sorts of stuff.

"You're never gonna object to someone having something naughty. I was trying to encourage these mutiny's all the time."

George also addressed the accusations of 'bullying' against MP Matt Hancock during his time in the jungle. The pop star firmly denied those rumours and insisted there's no bad blood between the pair.

He said: "He isn't a dislikeable human being. What he did was wrong and my only problem was the way that he apologised.

"If you do something wrong, you say 'I did it wrong and I'm sorry'. Don't use a technicality because it's not going to work. So that's the only thing that I thought was the problem."

He added: "I was quite surprised when I came out and read that I had bullied Matt. I knew for a fact that he would never say I bullied him because that was the opposite of what I did. Bullying him would have been being dishonest, going behind his back and saying it to everyone else.

"And there was some of that, there was a lot of that in the background - people saying things about Matt and then being friendly to his face. I said what I had to say and just wanted to enjoy my time in the jungle."
