The family of a three-year-old child who died following a cancer battle have paid tribute to their "beautiful boy", saying that he is "no longer in pain". Morgan Ridler, who was diagnosed with a rare and complex form of cancer in October 2021 at the age of just two, passed away on Wednesday, June 28.
His parents, Natalie and Matthew, had been told after a relapse that his treatment was not working and the focus would move to palliative care. As reported by Wales Online, hundreds of people lined the streets of Swansea to give Morgan an unforgettable day, which included a drive-by from dozens of supercars including a Mercedes F1 car just last week.
The youngster also got a chance to ride for the first time in a plane with his parents. However, on Monday, Morgan's parents shared the update that everyone was dreading by announcing that Morgan was to be moved to Ty Hafan hospice as he was in "increasing pain".
And this morning his loved ones issued a heartbreaking update to say that he had passed away at around 5.30am, surrounded by his family.
In the Facebook post, they wrote: "Morgan Gareth John Ridler 07.07.2019 - 28.06.2023. Our beautiful boy started on his next great adventure at approximately 5.30am this morning.
"He was peaceful and comfortable with his family around him. Although it was faster than we could ever have anticipated, Morgan was in control at the very end, knowing he was safe and we were with him.
"No more pain now, you fought so hard for so long, you always smiled regardless, you always laughed, you always loved. Although I wish this never happened to us I know that we are better people for having known and loved you. You’ve taught us to be be more and love more.
"In us you have inspired more love than I ever thought possible, you’ve created power for good and we are so grateful for you. Our Morgs. Our Squishy".
The post, which was shared at around 8.10am on Wednesday, was accompanied by a photo of a loved one tenderly holding Morgan's hand, with a Sunflower and a Spiderman teddy bear seen nearby.
Dozens of tributes to young Morgan, with many thanking him for bringing them together, as they shared their 'deepest condolences' to the family.
