A boy was taken to hospital with a 'laceration' wound after an attack near the Trafford Centre on Easter Monday.
Police officers were called to the scene at around 6.25pm last night (April 18). A spokesperson for the force said they received a report of an 'assault' near the shopping centre.
A 16-year-old was taken to hospital from the scene. Police said he suffered a 'laceration'.
He remains in hospital for treatment on the wound. Any witnesses or anyone with information about the attack is being urged to contact Greater Manchester Police.
In a statement, a force spokesperson said: "At around 6.25pm on Monday 18 April 2022, we received a report of an assault near the Trafford Centre. A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition as he receives treatment for a small wound.
"Anyone with information should contact police via gmp.police.uk or 101 quoting 2388 18/04/22. Information can be shared anonymously via the independent charity - Crimestoppers on 08000 555 111."
A spokesperson for the Trafford Centre said: "We are aware there was an incident last night, which was swiftly attended by both our security teams and Greater Manchester Police. An individual has since been taken to hospital, accompanied by a police officer."
