Boy, 14, suspended for wearing shorts and told he could wear skirt instead

A 14-year-old boy has been told he cannot wear shorts to school even when it is hot - but he is allowed to wear a skirt. Leo Drew joined his classmates to stage a peaceful protest against the uniform rules

Leo was put into isolation as a result of the protest and subsequently suspended despite the school currently 'considering future changes to the policy'. Mum Mandy said she believes the rules at Tor Bridge High in Plymouth are 'sexist', reports PlymouthLive.

She says she is concerned about her son's welfare during the hot weather and doesn't agree that other pupils can wear skirts to keep cool, but shorts are not allowed.
