Boy, 11, gets up before sunrise to hunt for YouTubers' energy drink flying off shelves

Teenagers have been going wild for an energy drink created by two popular YouTubers and one parent has revealed that her 11-year-old son even woke her up before sunrise for a chance to get his hands on the drink.

The Prime Hydration drinks have been released by American WWE wrestler Logan Paul and British YouTuber and rapper KSI.

The two social media stars were once intense rivals, going head-to-head in two huge fights back in 2018 and 2019, StokeonTrentLive reports.

But a newfound friendship has seen KSI and Paul become business partners with the launch of their very own energy drink, which comes in seven flavours - Meta Moon, Ice Pop, Orange, Blue Raspberry, Tropical Punch, Lemon and Lime and Grape.

While it's widely available in the US the drink is exclusive to Asda in the UK, costing £2 a bottle.

The UK release has created a frenzy among KSI and Paul's teenage fans, who have been desperate to get their hands on it.

There have been reports of children swarming Asda stores before they open and making a mad dash to the shelves, which have been clearing quickly.

One mum has revealed that her son dragged her out of bed at 6.15am on Monday (October 31) after he was told that a batch of the Prime Hydration drinks was due to be stocked at Blurton Road service station in Stoke-on-Trent.

The service station is run by Euro Garages, whose owners bought Asda in 2020, and they were selling the drinks for £2.99 each.

It took only 15 minutes for the mother and son to arrive at the store, but they has to wait until 7am when staff began unloading the fresh delivery. Luckily, they managed to get their hands on four bottles.

The mum, who chose to remain anonymous, told StokeonTrentLive : "I was expecting queues of people and chaos but there wasn't anybody there. Kids can’t buy them because they are energy drinks so I had to buy them.

"He got two blue and two red bottles. There’s the whole hype of it and everybody is talking about it, kids feel like they are missing out if they haven’t tried it.

"The blue raspberry is not too bad but I think the tropical punch is vile, I am not a fan of that one at all. It’s going crazy and I genuinely don’t know why."

It wasn't their first attempt at getting hold of the coveted drinks, she added: "Every kid in the world wants one and every time we are near an Asda we have to go in and ask if they have got any.

"We’re told as soon as they put them on the shelves they are gone."
