A 10-year-old boy is being treated for "potentially life-changing injuries" after being hit by a car near a playground in Llanharry. Police were called to Addison Avenue at around 5.20pm on Wednesday (July 5).

A statement from South Wales Police said the boy was taken to the University Hospital of Wales with injuries "described as potentially life changing."
It added: "The circumstances surrounding the collision are under investigation. We want to hear from anyone who may have seen the collision or who has any dashcam, mobile phone or CCTV footage."
On Wednesday evening, police had said: "We are at the scene of a serious road traffic collision in Llanharry Road, Llanharry. The road is currently closed in both directions between Tylacoch and Addison Avenue junction with Degar Road it is expected to remain closed for some time."
