Boxer Ashish Chaudhary's "dream" is to fulfill his late father's desire to see an Olympic medal around his neck. In March 2020, just before the Olympic qualifiers in Jordan, Ashish lost his father who was ailing for a long time.
To his credit, Ashish managed to put the "devastating loss" behind him to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics. The feat made him the first-ever boxer from Himachal Pradesh to get an entry to the Olympics. He crashed out in the first round in Tokyo, but it was an experience that was going to hold him in good stead.
