The Boxing Day sales are the next best sales event post-Black Friday, and arguably even better than the November sales event if you're hunting for deals on a sofa or piece of furniture.
Before you jump into hunting for the best Boxing Day home deals there are two things you need to know. 1. You will find things going for some incredibly low prices, and 2. most of the sales will be focused on end-of-season products that retailers are looking to shift (hence the super low deals). But this combination means it's very easy to get carried by the Boxing Day home deals and not make smart investments.
To help you cut through the noise we've done the homework for you ahead of the sales for the ones to watch and the retailers who have already launched their Christmas sales. Most of our favourite retailers launch their Boxing Day sales on the 26th. However, we've seen some brands such as The White Company and Our Place already press go on their Christmas deals.
Here is everything you need to know before you start shopping.

The best boxing day deals
Sofa deals
Like we mentioned earlier Boxing Day and January are one of the best times to snap up a deal on a sofa. This is because many brands such as Next don't take part in the Black Friday sale, but do have post-Christmas deals.
These are some of the sofa's we've already found on offer.
Bedding and mattress deals
If your New Year's resolution is to sleep better, then Boxing Day is a great time to hunt out one of the best mattress at a bargain price. Simba and Emma usually reliably have a strong Boxing Day sale offering. If you're thinking smaller and just want to update your sheets it's worth looking to The White Company, Marks & Spencer and Dusk.
Vacuum cleaner deals
Last year we saw a number of cordless vacuums go on offer, however with the caveat that they were all older models. We haven't spotted any strong deals on offer just yet but will update you as they start to drop.
Air fryer deals
Ninja produces some of the best air fryers and have already kicked off their winter sale. However, we expect a few other retailers to join in. However, like with other appliances this isn't the best time to shop new models. Instead keep your eyes peeled for ones that are a year or so old to nab the best value deals.
Need to do some research before you buy?
It can be easy to get swayed by the urgency of big discounts and limited-time offers in the sales, but doing a little research before you buy can ensure you don't make a costly mistake by purchasing a product that doesn't quite fit your requirements.

When do the Boxing Day and January sales end?
The January sales traditionally start on 1st January, but a lot of retailers these days start their deals much earlier, kicking off with pre-Christmas discounts that last until just before Christmas, into Boxing Day deals. Often retailers extend their offerings further as part of 'winter discounts', such as Cox & Cox.
Traditionally, January sales last the whole month until 31st January, meaning you don’t have to rush to bag a bargain.
What can you buy in Boxing Day and January sales?
Perhaps the most obvious thing to shop for less in the Boxing Day sales is Christmas decor. Anything seasonal that a retailer has failed to sell by the end of the festive season is likely to be massively discounted. So, as long as you have storage space, the Boxing Day and January sales offer a great opportunity to save on next year's decor. Consider stocking up on half-price baubles, Christmas lights, or investing in one of the best artificial Christmas trees for less.
Christmas gifting will also often be on sale – we are talking about everything from bath and body gift sets to game consoles and toys.
