PANCHKULA: Haryana's boxing contingent seized the limelight on the final day of the Khelo India Youth Games, grabbing 10 gold medals to power the inaugural champions to their second KIYG crown here on Monday. Locked at 41 gold medals with defending champions Maharashtra at the end of the penultimate day's action, all eyes were on the 12 home pugilists, who had entered the finals of their respective weight categories on Sunday.
However, the start of the action in the ring wasn't an auspicious one for the home side as Maharashtra's Vishwanath Suresh trounced local favourite Ashish in the boys' 48kg final. Well that was the only gold Maharashtra managed from their four boxers in the fray.
