When I heard Boux Avenue had created a range of shaping loungewear to rival Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS I was pretty excited.
SKIMS sculpting bodysuits and underwear comes with a heavy price tag, with one ‘core control thong’ costing £28, while full length jumpsuits are upwards of £100 - it’s the price paid to look like a Kardashian, apparently.
But Boux Avenue’s new contouring loungewear collection could really give the brand a run for its money, because wearing it - I felt better about my body than I have the whole pandemic.
The 'Move For You' range, features a range of thongs and full length bodysuits, alongside bralettes, bandeau and cycling shorts, available in store and online in three gorgeous colours.
I tried out one of their jumpsuits, a body suit, two tops, cycling shorts and a pair of briefs in their olive and mocha shades - but they’re also available in a light ‘stone’ colour, too.
Each design is available in small, medium and large - so as a size 10, I went for medium. I do hope that Boux Avenue widens their size range for this collection, though, to make it more inclusive.
Firstly I tried on the contour seamless high-leg briefs , which cost £14. It might seem like an expensive pair of pants, but they’re so comfortable, flattering and there’s no bunching or chafing to contend with.
They make the perfect base for the contour seamless full-length bodysuit (£38), which was a little transparent without anything under it.
It was really easy to get on as the material is quite forgiving, but once you’re in with straps snapped into place, it’s very flattering and sculpting.
It offered a totally seamless athleisure look and was so comfortable to wear, and something that could be worn around the house as loungewear, at the gym as workout wear, and ideal for walking the dogs or quickly popping to the shops.
The thong bodysuit from Boux Avenue is less than half the price of the sculpting bodysuits from SKIMS. Alone, this made me feel like an 80s pilates instructor, but it looks great with a pair of joggers thrown over the top. Equally, a similar coloured cardigan would pair really well for a comfortable work from home outfit.
I also tried the basic crop top and bandeau , which pair with the cycling shorts ideal for a HIIT workout
While I may never have a body like Kim Kardashian (nor would I particularly want to), this shapewear line from Boux Avenue gave me a real confidence boost and felt amazing.
It gave me the motivation to hit the gym in my new gear, and was really easy to move in, and was not restrictive in the slightest. I’d love to get the full length jumpsuit in every colour, as I could practically live in it it’s so wearable and versatile.
