Bournemouth told ex-Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa could bring 'fearless' football to Cherries

Former Premier League striker and talkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino has said that if ex-Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa does take the Bournemouth job, they will start playing 'fearless' football.

The Argentinian was in charge at Elland Road for four seasons from 2018 to 2022 and oversaw the Whites' promotion from the Championship and return to the English top flight.

Bielsa left his position at Leeds in February this year with his Whites side in 16th at the time and has been linked to the vacant role at Bournemouth in recent days, who have reportedly made him their sole target.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Cascarino praised Bielsa's style of play, claiming that he could change Bournemouth for the better if they play how he did at Leeds.

"He plays fearless football. Sometimes you can come away thinking ‘did I just witness that?’ [when he was at] Leeds and the way they played.

"They can be beaten by anybody and they can beat anybody. When it’s good it’s great, it’s much more than that, it’s terrific. But it can be bad and suddenly everyone’s going ‘you can’t play football like that’.

"He’s got people defending, everybody getting forward and chasing everywhere all over the pitch. That’s surely wrong, so I get that as well. You need some sort of pragmatic style to that adventurous play."
