Bournemouth sent 'incredible' Nottingham Forest warning

Former Nottingham Forest defender Michael Dawson believes Steve Cooper has already done the "impossible" in his seven months in charge of the Reds.

Since his arrival in September, Cooper has guided Forest from rock-bottom of the Championship to third, with automatic promotion a realistic possibility with three games left to play.

Speaking on Sky Sports after Tuesday night's 1-0 win away at Fulham, Dawson said automatic promotion is "still on" for Forest but stressed how impressive a job Cooper has done regardless.

"Wow, this promotion chase is still on," Dawson said. "They're such a young team but they played with so much confidence and experience, the way they managed the game.

"We can talk about Bournemouth next week but they've both got a game on Saturday, and that's what they've got to concentrate on. Forest have got Swansea at home, and the City Ground will be packed out. We've got to turn up, we can't think we've beaten Fulham, tough place to go, and not get the three points on Saturday - because then if Bournemouth win, then Tuesday is irrelevant.

"If they miss out on the top two, it's not a disaster. From where they have been, to get to the play-offs, it's impossible the job he has done. Incredible.

"Their aim is the top two, of course it is. They've got the momentum, they don't want to go into the play-offs, because it's a flick of a coin, it's a lottery, anything can happen. One game, one mistake, we've seen it before. But they are in form and they can catch them (Bournemouth), they definitely can."
