Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks has confirmed on social media that he has successfully recovered Hodgkin Lymphoma and is cancer free.
The 24-year-old was diagnosed with Stage II Hodgkin Lymphoma, a form of cancer back, back in October and has been completing treatment ever since. Before the initial diagnosis after a medical examination, Brooks was a regular and made nine appearances for Scott Parker's side.
In a statement, the Wales international has acknowledged the "excellent season" his teammates have had ahead of tonight's clash with Nottingham Forest and hinted at being back at the stadium to cheer on the team. " I am looking forward to being back at The Vitality to cheer the team on as we head into the most important fixtures of the season," were Brooks' exact words.
