As odd as it might sound, winning well and often can be its own worst enemy. Just ask star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown. “In the past, a lot of you guys remember some of those results and then losses,” said Brown via The Athletic’s Jared Weiss. Boston’s newfound ability to come out on top in games they would have lost in seasons past was not lost on the Georgia native after the Celtics’ close win over the Indiana Pacers at TD Garden.
“I think it’s a step forward that in those moments of adversity that we still have found ways to win,” Brown explained. “I guess everybody wants us to be perfect.”
“Over the course of 82 (regular season games), it’s tough to do,” observed the Celtics swingman.

“I think we’ve taken steps this year because I think a lot of those times, we’ve blown leads, and they ended up in losses,” he admitted.
And while there are certainly still moments where a sliver of doubt might creep into a fan’s mind in some games this season (and the Pacers tilt was one), the consensus seems to be that this team can beat perhaps any other team in the league when it focuses.
And it has been focused quite a bit this season.
