Boston’s Ime Udoka, assistant coaches hope to keep Celtics ‘sharp and focused’ to end season

The Boston Celtics have been absolutely rolling in the second half of their 2021-22 NBA season, at least until they lost key frontcourt defensive cog Robert Williams III to a torn lateral meniscus for several weeks.

Since then, the Celtics have struggled and lost to the Toronto Raptors — albeit with four starters sitting — and nearly dropped a game to the Indiana Pacers with everyone of note but Timelord healthy. Clearly a bit out of sorts while they reinvent their approach to defense, head coach Ime Udoka was asked if the team had lost a bit of their edge after so much recent success.

“We had a tough stretch against high-level opponents, and Miami’s in the same boat, so it shouldn’t be any letdown with Toronto or Indiana,” replied Udoka.
