Fans of the Boston Celtics have been treated to a Derrick White who seemingly can’t miss from deep to start the team’s 2022-23 campaign. They also gained another glimpse at something they hadn’t seen much of before: White dunking the ball with authority in Boston’s 126-120 win over the Orlando Magic on Saturday.
That’s bad news for a bet made between White and teammate Grant Williams on which of the two Celtics will have the most dunks this season. The onetime Tennessee standout doesn’t mind too much if we see more dominant flushes like the one we saw against the Magic on Saturday.
“D-White and I had a bet about who’s going to have more dunks this year,” explained Williams via CLNS.

“Let’s just say he’s beat me out a bit,” he added. “That might’ve counted for two dunks, based off the fact he dunked on a seven-footer.”
