Boston’s 2023 Sin City Celtics squad coming together for Las Vegas Summer League

Thanks to new reporting from the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach about the future roster of the Boston Celtics at the NBA’s 2023 Las Vegas Summer League, we now have a better idea of which players will be part of this summer’s Sin City Celtics.

And though the names who will be suiting up for Boston this July in Nevada may not be the sexiest given Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens has been making liberal use of Boston’s first round picks in recent years to grease the wheels of trades, fans of the ball club ought to be intrigued by at least some of the names being added to the mix.

The team will be coached by Boston assistant Tony Dobbins, and will likely see a few more names added as well. Let’s see who is a Sin City Celtic this summer so far.

A 29-year-old one-dimensional sharpshooter, Mulder won’t likely make the team this season but could end up in Maine.

Vincent Valerio-Bodon - wing

A 2023 undrafted 6-foot-10 wing with the size of a forward but the fluidity of a guard, Valerio-Bodon has a real shot of making the team as a two way player.

Scrubb has potential as a two way shooting guard after three seasons in the league with the Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Clippers, but has yet to settle his jumper despite shooting 39.5% from deep in college.

Justin Bean - forward

Standing at 6-foot-7, the 26-year-old Utah State alum put up 10.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per game while shooting 36.7% from 3 with the Memphis Hustle last season.

A 7-foot-1 Polish big man Boston has been pursuing for some time, he logged 9.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per game for Gran Canaria last season in Spain’s Liga ACB.

Jordan Walsh - wing

Arkansas’ Jordan Walsh shoots the ball during the NCAA men’s basketball tournament first round match-up between Illinois and Arkansas, on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Wells Fargo Arena, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Boston’s No. 38 pick from this year’s draft, fans will be excited to see how good his defense — and how bad his jumper — are in Sin City.

Kamar Baldwin - guard

A member of the Maine Celtics, Baldwin recorded 14.8 points, 4.9 boards, 5.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in Portland last season while shooting 36.7% from deep.

Justin Champagnie - forward

Another familiar face, Champagnie joined the Celtics roster as depth insurance last season and may make next season’s regular roster in the same role.

JD Davison - guard

The Alabama alum will likely be back as a two way prospect honing his craft in Maine but could see some NBA action if Boston does not add more backcourt depth.
