The Boston Celtics officially announced the signing of their No. 53 pick of the 2022 NBA draft JD Davison to a two way contract. Per the team’s policy, the terms of the deal were not discussed, but the Alabama product might play his way onto the regular roster with a strong performance in this week’s 2022 Las Vegas Summer League.
According to the Celtics, the 6-foot-3, 195-lb. combo guard played in 33 games for the Crimson Tide last season, starting 6 of them and putting up 8.5 points on 46.3% shooting (30.1% from 3-point range), 4.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.0 steals in 25.8 minutes of floor time with Alabama.
Boston also related that Davison was a Southeastern Conference All-Freshman Team selection and two-time SEC Freshman of the Week.
