Boston Celtics acquire Porzingis, trade Smart in three-team deal: Report

Kristaps Porzingis and Marcus Smart are reportedly part of a three-team trade, where, according to ESPN, Porzingis is set to be traded from Washington Wizards to Boston Celtics, while Smart will be sent to Memphis Grizzlies as part of the deal.

The Grizzlies will also send their first-round pick (25th overall) to Boston, while the Celtics will send the 35th pick to Washington. Additionally, Boston will send Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala to Washington.

Porzingis, a Latvian star and the fourth overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft, had a career-high season with the Wizards, averaging 23.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.5 blocks in 65 games last season.

The Celtics will be looking to bolster their lineup, which already includes All-Stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, in their pursuit of an NBA title. However, losing Smart, a key player known for his motivation and defensive abilities, will require an adjustment for Boston.

On the other hand, the Grizzlies will be hoping that Smart brings his intensity and contributes to their team after their early playoff exit and Ja Morant's suspension at the start of the next season.
