Boston Celtics veteran big man Blake Griffin is no stranger to having to nope out of a bad situation, as evidenced by his not-so-subtle shots at his last team, the perennial dysfunctional Brooklyn Nets. The six-time All-Star got his start playing for the Donald Sterling-owned Los Angeles Clippers, after all — an organization that he stuck with through quite literally the worst of times.
Weirdly, after a massive campaign to get him to re-sign with the team after that debacle had passed, the franchise dealt him to the Detroit Pistons after handing him the keys to the franchise just months earlier.
In an interview with the eponymous host of the “In Depth with Graham Bensinger” show, the Celtics center recounted his especially awkward divorce with the Clippers as the path that led him to sign with the Celtics was set in motion all those years ago.
