The boss of the lorry driver involved in a crash in Anfield said he was shocked by the incident and gave more details about how the incident occurred.
Four people were injured after a lorry mounted the pavement and crashed into a bus stop on Oakfield Road in Anfield at around 1.30pm on Saturday (March 25). There was a significant emergency service response, with Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service.
The driver was finishing a delivery shift for St Helens-based company Ale & Beer Supplies. The company's owner Chris Lawler told the ECHO that the driver, said to be in his 30s, suffered a medical episode behind the wheel, losing consciousness and then losing control of the vehicle.

The driver of the lorry was taken to hospital for treatment and is assisting with enquiries.
Speaking to the ECHO, Mr Lawler said: "It was a massive shock to me. He's worked with us for quite a while. He's a young and fit lad, always keeps himself well in shape.
"He had just left his final drop off and was on his way back to the depot. I believe he lost consciousness and then lost control."
Mr Lawler said he hopes those injured in the incident are recovering well. He said that the driver is now recovering in hospital, with medical staff continuing to check his condition.
Merseyside Police recovered the lorry at around 3.40pm and the road was reopened. Officers are continuing their enquiries into the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any dashcam, CCTV or other information is asked to contact Merseyside Police on Twitter @MerPolCC with reference 0505 of March 25.
