The fuming boss of a top-rated country pub has launched a stinging riposte to a one-star review from a disgusted diner on Tripadvisor. The Clickham Inn near Penrith is a proud "dog friendly pub" but has been hit by a negative review by a customer who slammed "rude" service and said there was a "dog barking at his table begging for food".
The historic Clickham Inn is currently in the top ten best-rated restaurants for the whole of the Lake District on Tripadvisor with 680 "excellent" reviews. But in among the many five star reviews is a fuming one-star post left in December on the public reviews site.
The diner, named John, headlined the post: "WE WON'T BE BACK". But in a stinging response from the pub, the owners replied: "We are all collectively really happy that you will never be returning".
