Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joan Watzke has claimed that Erling Haaland’s future with the club will be resolved in the next few weeks.
Haaland is expected to leave Dortmund at the end of the season as the 21-year-old striker has a clause in his contract that allows him to depart Signal Iduna Park for £64million this summer.
A host of European football's elite clubs are expected to enter a bidding war to secure Haaland's signature, and according to the Athletic, Manchester City want the prolific striker to replace Sergio Aguero.
However, ESPN have claimed that Manchester United are no longer in the race to sign him because they believe the Dortmund star has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid.
Watzke has revealed that Haaland’s future will be made clear, possibly before the end of March or early April, but admitted he was unsure if the Norway star will stay with Dortmund.
He told RTL: "I don't know [if Dortmund can keep Haaland]. That will certainly clear up in the next few weeks, maybe a month, maybe six weeks.
"If he leaves, we'll handle it the way we've always done it. We'll find someone new again."
Chelsea are reportedly one of the many clubs interested in acquiring Haaland’s services, and it’s easy to see why; the Blues have a history of spending huge amounts of money on strikers who have ultimately failed to deliver.
The likes of Alvaro Morata, Timo Werner and £97.5million club record signing Romelu Lukaku were brought in to solve their issues up front, but the Blues are yet to find the consistent 20-30 goal a season striker they crave.

Haaland’s scoring record certainly suggests he might be the prolific goal scorer they’ve been looking for, the Dortmund star has scored an impressive 80 goals in 79 games for the club and has also registered 21 assists.
With the future of Werner and Lukaku the subject of much speculation, a move for the Norway star could be in the offing this summer.
