Boris Johnson was asked if “everything is OK” after giving an ill-fated and haphazard speech.
Today, the Prime Minister addressed members of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) at the organisation’s annual conference in South Shields.
During the speech, Johnson used the opportunity to talk about Peppa Pig World, fumbled his notes and lost the thread of what he was discussing, having to frequently ask for forgiveness after stumbling.
The bizarre display has been dubbed as “embarrassing” and even led to a Sky News reporter directly asking the Prime Minister if everything was ok on live TV.
In a clip posted on Twitter, the reporter can be heard off-screen asking Johnson: “In your speech to the CBI, you lost your notes, you lost your place, you went off on a tangent about Peppa Pig. Frankly, is everything OK?”

Johnson responded in the most predictable fashion – stumbling over his words but suggesting that, in fact, it actually went well.
He replied: “I think that people got the vast majority of the points I wanted to make and I thought it went over well.”
It’s fair to say that his antics did not go down well on social media as some suggested the PM is delusional if he thinks it went well.
One person wrote: “Imagine a scenario where your boss asks if everything is ok after you gave an apocalyptically bad presentation to clients and the answer was I think it went well … pure delusion.”

Another Twitter user had strong words for the PM, writing: “Incompetent, cheating, lying charlatan. What a joke. What an embarrassment.”
