Boris Johnson is reportedly preparing a campaign to return as Prime Minister. The front page of Friday's edition of The Times newspaper says that "just six weeks after leaving office, the former Prime Minister has asked allies, donors and the team that helped him win the 2019 general election to run his campaign for a return to number ten".
And The Telegraph reports Mr Johnson is privately urging Conservative MPs to back him. Meanwhile, The Times reports that it will be a "three horse race" for the leadership of the Conservative Party - and the UK Government - after Liz Truss quit on Thursday.
The Times says Mr Johnson will be up against his former Chancellor Rishi Sunak and Penny Mordaunt, leader of the House of Commons. However, The Telegraph claims Mr Johnson is "pressing Rishi Sunak to reach out and 'get back together'."
