Britain is to send 120 armoured cars and anti-ship missiles systems to war-torn Ukraine after Boris Johnson met with the country's President, Volodymyr Zelensky in the capital of Kyiv today.
The Ukrainian embassy in London tweeted a picture of the two leaders meeting face to face. A No 10 spokesperson said the meeting was arranged in a 'show of solidarity' for Ukraine. They added that the Prime Minister was using the unannounced visit to set out a new package of financial and military aid.
This includes the £100 million worth of high-grade military equipment announced yesterday, and an additional 500 million dollar (£385 million) in World Bank lending to Ukraine - taking the total loan guarantee to up to one billion dollars.
