Border czar reveals why ICE wants electric shock gloves for officers

  • White House border czar Tom Homan defended ICE's plan to adopt electric shock gloves, known as GLOVE, to help officers manage non-compliant detainees as a non-lethal alternative.
  • The Department of Homeland Security announced plans to spend up to $20 million by March 2027 on the devices, which are manufactured by Compliant Technologies.

  • Civil rights advocates, including representatives from the ACLU, criticized the move, warning that the easily concealed devices could lead to abuse and public harm.
