Boots have slashed the price of a highly popular SPF lotion to just £10 as part of their weekly Tuesday offers. The LAB SERIES All-In-One Defence Lotion SPF 35 is usually a staggering £49.50, meaning shoppers can save nearly £40 on the skincare saviour.
While it’s recommended that people wear SPF every day, all year round, many turn to lotions and moisturisers with sun protection more in the summer months - and this high end product is currently at its lowest ever price.
Formerly known as Day Rescue Defense Lotion SPF 35, the skincare product is the exact same formula - which is suitable for all skin types - in new packaging.

The All-In-One Defence Lotion SPF 35 is said to absorb quickly to ‘fortify skin with an invisible shield against environmental aggressors’, which includes UV rays, pollution, free radicals, blue light, infrared rays, ozone and harsh weather conditions.
Marketed to men, but suitable for women, too, the SPF lotion helps prevent premature signs of ageing, of which sun damage is the leading cause.
As well as protecting the skin, the Lab Series SPF hydrates the skin and soothes irritation while smoothing skin texture to reduce the appearance of fine lines, and leaves a ‘shine-free finish’ on the skin.
On the Boots website, it has a 4.4 star rating out of five, consisting of over 300 reviews, 224 of which are five stars. Shoppers have praised it for leaving skin feeling ‘nourished’, with another calling it a ‘miracle cream’.
One said: “I've been a Lab Series customer for about a year now and I've found all their products to be of high quality and do exactly what they say they do, and this Rescue Defence Lotion is no exception. I spend a lot of time outdoors running and hiking, and with the recent hot weather I've been looking for a moisturiser with great hydration properties and strong SPF protection. This is it.
“A little goes a long way, and my skin feels nourished and very well protected on hot days. The subtle fragrant smell feels nice and 'clean' compared to cheap & sticky sun creams and the sleek packaging makes it easy to fit in my bag.”
Another said: “Miracle cream. Absolutely loved this. Very light and uplifting on the skin.” While a third wrote: “I typically hate wearing sunscreen because it's so heavy and difficult to absorb into my skin. This lotion absorbs quickly so there's no white cast. It's a little bit thicker than I'd like, but the pros outweigh the cons. It also gives my skin a bit of a glowing finish which is an added bonus.”
By comparison, there are 19 one star reviews, many of which are customers who previously loved the discontinued SPF 15 version of this lotion. One wrote: “SPF 35 is a disappointment, too thick. I like the SPF 15 much better. I have been a Lab Series customer for many years.”
The Lab Series SPF lotion is usually more expensive than the £35 Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Broad Spectrum Mineral SPF 30 and Anthony Day Cream SPF 30, but the Boots offer makes it cheaper than all of these, as well as more affordable moisturisers like the £15 Byoma SPF 30 Gel Moisturiser and £14 Piz Buin Allergy Sun Sensitive Skin Lotion SPF30 400ml.
Elsewhere, Superdrug have slashed the price of 41 suncare products by 20 per cent, recognising it as a healthcare essential rather than a beauty product. The 20% saving on products means families will be able to protect both adults and children with SPF50 for just over £6, with the Solait Sun Cream SPF50 reduced to £3.59 and the Solait kid’s roll-on sun cream SPF50+ reduced to £2.79 until at least the end of the year.
