One of Edinburgh's most popular independent sandwich shops have teased fans on social media about the possibility of a second location opening after the New Year.
Alby's, in Leith, has made a name for itself serving up some of the finest sarnies the capital has to offer, with plenty of mouth-watering fillings. Opening until late and attracting hundreds of hungry locals each week, a new location may be on the cards.
Before closing for Christmas, the owners of Alby's, Natasha Ferguson and Matt Belcher, took to Instagram posing with a set of keys and a message for customers that points to southside being earmarked as a destination for a second shop.

They said: "Exciting times ahead! Closing out our last few days of the year with some pretty big things happening! South side, we're coming for ya.
"Thanks to @fidraproperty for getting us here. It was a long search. Itching to see what this new year brings."
In 2019, we reported how Alby's, opened their doors to the public on Portland Place and were an instant hit. At the time, fillings such as calamari, beef short rib and spiced roasted cauliflower went down a treat.
Alby's have racked up over 12,000 followers on Instagram in a matter of years and regularly post images of their latest additions to the ever-changing menu to keep customers on their toes and pouring through the door.
Open Wednesday-Sunday until 8pm, one of Alby's hot sandwiches are definitely big enough to substitute your dinner for and residents in the south of the city could be in with a surprise by the time New Year rolls around.
